One of the most important lessons from behavioral research so far is: if you want people to do something, make it easier. This may sound logical, but the effect of ease is heavily underestimated. 

  • Attention

Attention is perhaps the scarcest commodity we have. There is a battle for visitors’ attention (especially online), but they can only focus on one thing at a time.

  • Motivation

Many ineffective sales techniques focus on increasing the visitor’s motivation to buy a particular product. However, the real power of motivation lies in aligning with the existing needs of your customers. 

  • Certainty

Uncertainty causes people to postpone their decisions. This is something you want to avoid, as procrastination often leads to abandonment. When you’re immersed in your product or website daily, it can be challenging to see where it creates uncertainty for new visitors.

  • Choice Architecture

Our purchasing behavior is influenced by the way available options are presented to us. By structuring or describing the same choices differently, you can have significant effects on behavior.
